The Bride-to-be with endless of Ideas

We had many reasons for deciding on a prewedding photoshoot in Taiwan.  Top of the list being; WEATHER.

The mere thought of prancing around in a white corset gown with layers of tuelle, full make-up and possibly a hairstyle sprayed full of whatever hair products.. plus the horribly, awfully, scorching hot weather of our lovely island, Singapore,  GOSH.  Is that torture or what?!

After penning our signatures with The Love Weddings, i just couldn't help but feel it wasn't enough.  Being a typically over-excited bride-to-be,  photoshoot surfing became my everyday hobby.  To my surprise, wedding photoshoots in Singapore can be quite interesting (apart from the weather!) and random photos all looked so good!

"Should we take a prewedding photoshoot here in Singapore???"
I must have dwelled over this same question in my head over and over for months.  And somehow along the way, the answer to my question just popped!

Project Reminisce.  They're an events management team  that provides creative ideas and solutions, handles the logistics and delivers memorable experiences of an event for their clients.  As part of their events management, they provide photography and videography services as well!

Thanks to our friends, Lok Wei and Stanley from Project Reminisce who sacrificed their time for a 2 days photoshoot with us, i finally got a load off my brain!

As ridiculous as it may sound, i made my own "tuelle" skirt.  For a girl who can't even sew on a button properly, this was huge!  To think of it, i was insane to even think i could just google and learn how to sew a skirt..  But, I DID.

Let me now formally introduce you to the tuelle skirt i made!  Tadaaaaaa! That turqouise tuelle skirt you see right there in the photo is made by MOI!

I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!

It's no where near perfect, but thanks to the well taken pictures, i think my skirt faired prettyyy well in photos!  It probably took me a week going around everywhere from Joochiat, Chinatown, Kampong glam and even Mustafa just to scout for fabrics.  And it took me another week doing stitches over endless layers of nets and tuelles.  Something i still can't believe i bothered to.  Buying one would have been nicer, probably cheaper and totally less painful huh?  Mummy totally took her hats off me! *heh heh*

Anyways!  'Nugh the grumbles! At least it turned out pretty ;D  We then scouted for tiaras, helium balloons, props and JF had to even top up his closet for the photoshoot!  Guys....... so little clothes, so limited designs, so difficult to dress!  Especially JF who is too tall for most nice shirts we see around *faints*

Just about the same time we were doing these, it occured to me that i could buy a wedding gown online!  Which by the way, turns out super affordable.  So i saw a post in the forum of Singaporebrides.com and was thrilled!  Giving the details a miss, this was THE GOWN.  And i just LOVEEEE this photo to bits!

It comes with a veil, a cancan and it all cost only alittle more than $100 with complimentary delivery too!  I did spend alittle more after that altering the gown into a corset from a zip-up by Blessed Brides but it was altogether still not too expensive!

The gown, the tiara, our great photographer and the beautiful Marina Barrage.  Everything added up to picture perfect!

Well.. may be not everything.  The dreaded sunny Singapore skies was a torture!  I got like at least 3 shades darker and that took me many many many months to "transform" back!  Look at JF.. he could barely open his eyes!  As for me, my fringe was my shelter!  Now people should know why i love my fringe so much ;P My saviour.

We went to afew other places: Changi Broadwalk, Sentosa, and Changi Airport.  I wish i can post everything, but since the wedding's not till December........................ Owells.

And from here, we're marching a few steps closer towards the Big day with more smiles!

Prewedding photoshoot in Taiwan

I had thought of all sorta ways to journal our path towards our vows, and FINALLY, i decided on Blogging.  I am no hardworking blogger, and definitely not the most interesting writer.  So i'm just gonna keep it simple, tell our story.

As many knows, we took a trip to Taiwan for our prewedding photoshoot last december.  If i have to think of a word to describe the experience, the word has gotta be "COOL"!  Or perhaps, COLD? And i meant that literally.

So the whole story began with us popping by a wedding show at Suntec one evening.  Actually, we SPECIALLY popped by the show, thinking we could just take a look.  We were SOOOO wrong.  We walked into the show less than a minute and ended up seating at one same spot for HOURS.  We were showed endless of photos in an ipad, albums of beautiful photoshoots and Yes, we were impressed.  Tempted.  Being a rash shopper that i am, even though we knew nothing about what we wanted, nothing about the bridal, we took the plunge.  Yea yea, so there goes our money....

Our Taiwan prewedding photoshoot was done by The Love Weddings 愛情海婚禮

We finally met them last December in Taiwan, aside from Ruby whom we met at the show.  They are at 台北市愛國東路, along a wedding street like the one in Tanjong Pagar where there's like a galore of bridal shops spoilt for choice.  Strolling along the street, getting a glimpse of all the beautiful gown displays, The Love Weddings had one of the loveliest shopfront and window display.

We spent a major amount of time chit chatting with the friendly ladies, Ruby and Ariel, while enjoying a cuppa nice warm delivered bubbletea (and food too!) *grins*  After which, we had a short discussion with the photographer 蘇sir who was a super duper quiet guy.  We then tried on some gowns, did some measurements and we were off to MORE snackings at Taipei's night market!

Everything after that was like fast forward.

Winter in Taipei wasn't THAT cold, considering it doesn't snow.  But it was cold enough for me to hesitate stepping outta the warm and cutesy shop, dressed in a wedding gown.  The warming pad we bought was of no help at all, and it only got colder when we travelled up north towards Jiufen 九份.

- we visited jiufen again after the photoshoot -
Jiufen is simply vintage, in a very Chinese way with red lanterns lining along the narrow streets and oriental structures.  I remember vividly the cold weather, along with the wind and rain that made it almost intolerable to even smile during the photoshoot.  While everyone else was layered with sweaters and scarfs, i was the only weirdo in a gown, posing in the rain while the wind was messing up my hair!  At least JF had a tuxedo on!  And no, i do not remember how i managed to smile for the lens.. I am so impressed by ME!

We stopped by afew scenic places for some shots (got alittle car-sicked along the way actually) but the remaining back at the studio was just mere fun-ness!  My Irregular Choice heels finally debutted!  And my Steve Madden must be the most photogenic heels ever!  Lol.  I must applaud myself (and JF who dragged the luggage most of the time :x) how i managed to drag along a boots, 2 heels and 1 wedges all the way to Taiwan, just for the photoshoot!  That excludes a pair of slipper and my walking shoes. HEH!

After almost half a year, we're now finalising the layouts for our album.   It's still gonna take abit of time since correspondences are all cyberly done.  And really, i probably take 10 times longer to reply in mandarin, so.....  Counting down!  Ask me if i wanna go through all these again, YES!  i love the gowns, and i love taking photos!

There's still so much to do, it's horrible!
